An emerging healthcare professional, Daniel “Danny” Ashley completed the California State University (CSU) Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) with distinction in 2019, after earning his bachelor’s degree in biology from the same university. The Fresno State MPA program is designed to be finished in two academic years, however, Danny Ashley took an accelerated course curriculum, which allowed him to complete it in one year.

Offered at both CSU campuses, the main campus in Fresno, CA, and the Fresno State in Visalia, CA, the MPA program is notably accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration. It enables students to work in nonprofit and public administration roles. The program’s curriculum comprises 36 units of coursework, with classes on weekends or evenings.

Some CSU MPA program courses are quantitative applications for public administration and organizational theory in public administration. Students also learn about public budgeting, including using economic analysis to deal with expenditure issues and taxation, and the effectiveness and burdens of different taxes.

CSU MPA students have ethics and public administration course that tackles the moral dimensions of decision-making in the sector and the nature of private and public morality. This class guides students through some other concepts, including relativism, psychological and ethical egoism, utilitarianism, and deontological theories.
